Job Brief:
Al Tayer Group are looking for an IT Portfolio Manager to support our portfolio of technology transformation programmes and projects. The IT Portfolio Manager will work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and work with senior stakeholders at Corporate/ Business Unit (BU) level to scope and define projects. They will also interface with internal / external Project Managers to ensure they are planned, managed and co-ordinated effectively. The Portfolio Manager will monitor and assure the projects to ensure delivery on time, cost and quality expectations and this information will be shared directly with Vice-President and CXO level stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have long and progressive industry experience in programme and project management leadership and/or business consulting. This will enable them to take ownership of specific strategic projects when required and/or to lead initiatives that will directly improve the quality and consistency of programme and project management capability within Al Tayer Group. They will have a firm understanding of the benefits of Portfoilo Management and in return will have the opportunity to make a real difference to PPM capability in Al Tayer Group including participation in the development and rollout of the IT programme and project management policies and procedures and relevant tools and templates. The successful candidate will therefore have proven experience in defining and embedding business case, benefits realisation management, business change management, and stakeholder engagement strategies and planning.
Person Specification::
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business or IT with a tertiary qualification in project management or business consulting with accredited portfolio, programme and/or project management qualification(s) such as MoP, PRINCE2, MSP or PMP.
As an applicant you will have long and progressive industry experience in programme and project management leadership and/or business consulting. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and facilitate group meetings with senior stakeholders (CXO and VP level) and to direct and manage external vendors. You will have knowledge of IT systems and be able to anticipate and plan for the associated impact of business change. You will have excellent people management and communication skills, with the ability to engage, lead and motivate teams of individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
